All events will be held in the Group Camping area of A.H. Stephens State Park. The Group Camp is separate from the rest of the park and will only be available to Swissypalooza participants.
There are ample sleeping cabins, enough to allow for private or single family lodgings. These are rustic cabins with four beds, a set of lockers, and a ceiling fan. You will need to bring your own bedding, but they will be very reasonably priced and do have electricity (two double outlets). Your dogs may stay with you in the cabins, if crated. Box fans and/or space heaters are allowed for your comfort. There are a few large sleeping cabins with a fireplace and covered back porch. These may need to be shared. Reservations will need to be made through Southbound (details coming soon).
The bathhouse is modern (on the inside) and clean and the dining hall and kitchen are very nice. Due to the site being on the National Historic Register, the exteriors look very much like they did in the 1930s; however, the interiors have been updated. Meal options will be posted once the details are worked out.
For RV/Travel Trailer campers, the hook ups are about a mile away and reservations will need to be made using the GA State Park website.
There is a large, open, lighted grass field for the draft trial in the middle of the Group Camp. The hikes will begin from the Group Camp and the trails will be closed to horses on the days we hike. Weight pull will be held in the large lighted picnic shelter adjacent to the draft field.
This is a lovely location with loads of potential. There are views of the lake from two of the four camp areas. There are basketball goals, fire pits and plenty of space to explore and have fun.
